Hi there everyone! Weyt-kp!

I am graduate from Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor of Education with a secondary STEM focus. My passion and desire for teaching stems from my many years of experience teaching youth about music and science at summer camps. I have a desire to help all students achieve and experience success while having fun in the process.

I also have a Bachelor of Science in the field of biology from the University of Victoria. I chose to explore the field of biology as I have always been fascinated with the natural world that surrounds me and how organisms have evolved to function as a part of complex system. My strong passion for biology, and the methods used to learn about biology, has greatly influenced my teaching style. I provide hands-on experiential learning opportunities for my students to learn and connect with the material, establish meaningful relationships with my students and when ever the opportunity presents itself, use the outdoors as the classroom, something my students really enjoy.

When I am not in the classroom or laboratory, I can be found outside in nature.  Nature provides the ideal setting for me to pursue my hobbies of skiing, biking, kayaking, hiking, bird watching and photography.  If I am not outside exploring then I can be found in a in a music studio playing percussion as a part of jazz or Celtic ensemble or I can be found in a library either curled up reading a book or looking for my next good read.
